Sasha Pivovarova is a Russian model born in January 21, 1985 in Moscow.
Her modeling career started in 2005 when a photographer friend took some photographs of her and sent them to the International Modeling Agency (IMG).
Before her modeling career took off, she was a student of art history at the Russian University for the Humanities.
IMG signed her and her first assignment involved modeling for the fall Prada show in Milan.
This led to a three-year advertising contract and Pivovarova became the face of Prada. As a model, she has appeared on the cover of numerous magazines such as Vogue, Elle, Madame Figaro, Allure, Cosmopolitan, Flare, and Sure.
On the catwalk, she has opened and appeared in shows for ready to wear, prefall, as well as haute couture collections for spring/summer and autumn/winter.
Some of the designers and fashions houses she has worked with include Miu Miu, Christian Dior, Jean Paul Gaultier, Elie Saab, Louis Vuitton, Calvin Klein, Missoni, Versace, Roberto Cavalli, Vera Wang, Stella McCartney, Michael Kors, Chanel, Chloe, Dolce & Gabbana, John Galliano, and Salvatore Ferragamo.
Agencies she works with include IMG models in New York, Donna Models in Tokyo, and Unique Models in Denmark.
Pivovarova has one child with her photographer husband Igor Vishnyakov. She is also an accomplished artist having exhibited her paintings in the Mansion Grand in New York as well as at a gallery in Paris.
She is also working with Miuccia Prada to publish a book that showcases some of her artwork including collages, photography, paintings, and drawings. Finally, Pivovarova has been a vegetarian since the age of 12.
