Natasha Poly is one of the world’s most sought-after models. Born Natalya Sergeyevna Polevshchikov in 1985, she hails from the Russian city of Perm.
Poly was discovered as a modeling talent at the age of 15 and made her professional debut on the ramp in 2004, modeling the work of French designer Emanuel Ungaro.
Since then, Poly has been the face of over twenty leading brands including Gucci, Versace, Alexander McQueen, Calvin Klein, Balenciaga, Miu Miu, Prada, Victoria’s Secret and Chanel.
She has modeled for the leading fashion brands including Louis Vuitton, Roberto Cavalli, Fendi, Nina Ricci, Jimmy Choo and Dolce & Gabbana.
She is married to Dutch businessman and President of the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD), Peter Bakker and has two siblings.
As one of the world’s busiest models, she has opened some of the world’s marquee runway shows.
Poly has been on the ascent since 2005 when she walked the runway at the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, but 2008 and 2009 saw her work reach a new level when she opened and walked the ramp for the Fall/Winter and Spring/Summer collections of almost every major fashion label in Paris, London, New York and Rome.
Poly has been featured on the cover of Vogue magazine in at least 10 languages, most prominently in Russian and American Vogue.
She enjoys the distinction of being one of the few models to have graced the cover of the iconic September 2008 issue of V magazine that featured the photography of Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadi.
She is a darling of Russian Vogue and was voted the number one model by Fashion Television, Muse Magazine and in recent times, voted as an icon by model.com.
She has worked with several legendary photographers including Karl Lagerfeld on the 2011 Pirelli calendar and Mario Sorrenti on the 2012 calendar.
Since 2012, Natasha Poly has been brand ambassador for L’Oreal Paris.
